SAT Vocabulary Early Foundation Class-Semester 1
This innovative vocabulary class is designed for students in grades 7–10 who want to build a strong foundation for future SAT preparation. It is especially suitable for middle school and early high school students who are not taking the SAT soon but would like to begin preparing early and reduce stress later.
Vocabulary plays a critical role in English reading comprehension, academic writing, and SAT success. However, many students find vocabulary learning difficult, boring, or easy to forget. Acquiring vocabulary only through reading can also be time-consuming and slow. This class helps students overcome these challenges through a structured and engaging vocabulary acquisition program.
Students will learn vocabulary through visuals, context-based examples, guided exercises, and systematic review. The course is designed based on the forgetting curve theory, using repeated review and reinforcement to help students move words from short-term memory to long-term retention. Students will not only memorize word meanings but also learn how to understand and apply words in meaningful contexts.
The class also incorporates peer learning, fun activities, and gamified learning to make vocabulary study more effective and enjoyable. Each weekly class is two hours long, with the goal of helping students learn and review approximately 50 words per week.
This course is ideal for students and parents who want to begin SAT vocabulary preparation early, build stronger English reading skills, and make future SAT preparation less stressful.
